Southeast Clergy Meals on Wheels

To provide nutritious meals at a reasonable cost to those in Bedford, Bedford Hts., Oakwood Village and Walton Hills, who are unable to shop and/or prepare adequate meals for themselves, regardless of age. This service enables them to maintain or resume independent living in their own homes.

As an all volunteer 501(c)3 service organization, our 88 volunteers (many of which are seniors in their 70s, 80s & 90s) provide the personal attention Meals on Wheels is known for. We are the only home-delivered meal program in our area and currently serve 115 clients. Our Meals on Wheels home-delivered meal program may be called a hybrid. Opened in 1976, we partner with Maple Hts. Senior Center and Rose Center For Aging Well, to provide Older Americans Act Title 3 meals to 2/3rds of our clients. Our partners deal directly with WRAAA, and our volunteers serve as their delivery persons in our four suburbs. The remaining 1/3 are on waiting lists for the free meal program and/or are pay-as-you-go customers, the majority of which are low-income seniors that require us to subsidize the cost of their “community” meals or are low-income disabled under age 60.
