Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center

To provide a safe and nurturing environment for at-risk students and families so they may pursue academic and personal excellence.

The tutorial building, which opened in 1993, was rededicated as the “Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center” after an expansion in 2011 that doubled the organization’s capacity to serve. The Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center now provides after school, winter break, spring break, and summer camp services for more than 100 elementary and middle-school-aged students. The tutorial center fosters educational achievement, positive self-esteem, and character development in a supportive and safe environment so that young people can flourish and grow to their fullest potential. The Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center continues to grow to meet the needs of children in the community, with a capital campaign currently underway to refurbish and expand the existing building and playground, as well as construct a new building.
