Tour Guide or GreeterVolunteering for duty in the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse complex, the Gay School Museum, the Central Mine Visitors Center, and/or the Eagle River Museum to greet visitors and assist in their tour of the site or museum.Fundraiser and Grant Application AuthorAssisting with fund-raising and grant sourcing and grant application writing.Committee MemberServing on one of the Society’s several museum, site and special project committees.Newsletter Author, Photographer, or ReporterWriting articles for our newsletter, The Superior Signal, or serving as a reporter or photographer for that publication or our web site.Maintaining the FacilitiesHelping with exhibit development, museum management, and building and site operation and maintenance.Workshop DeveloperAssisting in developing and the offering of our Adventures in History workshops for students and adults. |

About us | The Keweenaw County Historical Society was established in 1981 to preserve and share the history of the county. It has over 1,200 members, many of whom are life members. It operates a number of museums that are open to the public in the summer, publishes a triennial newsletter and several booklets, runs various programs for adults and children in the summer, maintains an archive of relevant documents, and actively maintains various historical properties. |
