Needs |
OutreachWe love volunteers who can make binders with pet profiles for animals who have been in our care for a long time. Those binders can then be dropped off at veterinary offices and pet-related stores such as grooming centers and supply stores so that people can look through them to see if there are animals they’re interested in adopting!In-Person VolunteeringTasks you may be involved in: • bathing and grooming animals • walking dogs • socializing shy animals • cleaning cattery and office area • organizing supplies • cleaning outside areaRestaurant FundraisersReach out to local restaurants and chains to see if they have fundraising options - these are often “events” created so that friends, family, and people in the community can visit a restaurant on a certain day and mention the fundraiser’s name. Then, a % of those purchases goes directly to us!Foster KittensWe are in HUGE need of kitten fosters during this time! Kitten season is around the here (March - October) - during this time, we get calls daily about litters who need rescuing and pulling from the euthanasia list, and we can’t do it without a massive pool of foster homes for them to go to! We are teaching people to foster kittens and guiding everyone all along the way.Water Bottle RecyclingCollect water bottles from your home and your neighbors and bring them to a local recycling center (many can be found at grocery stores) and support us that way! This is a wonderful project for younger kids or even Girl Scout troops!Virtual FundraisersIf you have some kind of skill or typically run some sort of skill-based class, we would love your help in hosting virtual fundraisers to both get people active at home and also support animal rescue! Examples could be a yoga class, with a $15 donation per class from each participant that goes directly towards rescue.Specialized VolunteersIf you have special skillsets such as ability to vaccinate and administer medications, professional dog training, professional grooming, running errands (post office, purchasing supplies, dropping animals off at the vet), landscaping, please make note of that when you get in touch with us!OutreachA big help you can do for us is making more locals aware of our rescue! We have a variety of flyers that we welcome volunteers to bring to local veterinary offices, pet shops, coffee shops, and stores to post up to raise awareness about our rescue and our services! |

About us | Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2015 by a group of passionate volunteers who have been working for years to end the mistreatment and suffering of all animals. We provide medical care, shelter, food, and most importantly love for homeless animals and sponsor spay and neuter campaigns for communities in need in the US as well as in Mexico. We also assist other rescues and provide animal welfare services for homeless dogs and cats in numerous cities of Mexico. |
