Family Room VolunteerThe Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a caring environment inside Renown Children’s Hospital where the families of pediatric patients can rest and gather strength while remaining steps from the child’s room. Family Room volunteers help provide a warm, friendly atmosphere for guests, offer resources to families, keep simple statistical records and register guests, keep the Family Room neat and tidy, enforce rules and guidelines when necessary, and listen actively to room visitors and show empathy.Administrative VolunteersAdministrative volunteers support the House by managing an abundance of behind-the-scenes work, including data entry, mailings, and administrative projects as needed.Chef/Baking Program VolunteerYour favorite recipes can help take away the question of where families will get their next meal and allows them to give all their energy and attention to their hospitalized child. Individuals, civic groups and organizations cook dinner for our guests. Chefs can even cook the meal in our kitchen to enhance our “home-away-from-home” atmosphere. Beyond cooking, you can also bake. Our House smells like home when individuals or small groups bake cookies, brownies and other treats in our kitchen. Goodies can always be baked at home and dropped off.Guest Service VolunteerGuest service volunteers work closely with staff and guest families by helping answer the phone, check in families, give house tours, and perform light housekeeping tasks. |

About us | Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada supports families who have a child receiving treatment at an area hospital. Every day we work to create an environment of comfort and hope that allows families respite during their child’s health challenges. While we may not be able to make medicine taste better or erase the pain of a critical health treatments, we can help ease financial and emotional burdens and give children in the hospital what they truly want: their family. |
