LibraryWe appreciate help with staffing the desk during open hours, along with cataloging, filing, and circulation of library materials.DocentsDocents are trained guides who lead museum tours for children and adults. Candidate docents complete a 9-month training course before joining the docent corps, which is offered every two years. The next docent class will be forming in 2022. Docents sign up to lead 1-2 tours a month, for a total of 18 per year.AdvancementLend a hand with member and fundraising eventsPrograms and EventsThe KIA hosts a variety of programs and events each month (each week!) and this is our primary and ongoing volunteer need. Tasks are varied — everything from selling drinks, to food preparation, to helping visitors complete art projects.Gallery ShopWhat a beautiful place to put your retail experience to work — or gain some!Reception DeskGreet visitors, give directions, answer questions, and provide information about the activities of the KIA.MarketingWe are always in need of volunteer photographers and those with hours to give on a regular basis. |

About us | The KIA is a private non-profit organization which has, since 1924, presented opportunities to the community and visitors from around the world to enjoy and create art. The KIA holds more than 5,000 fine artworks in its permanent collection; presents touring and collection exhibitions in 10 galleries; offers four terms of art classes at the Kirk Newman Art School; and houses the KIA Gallery Shop, featuring artwork by area artists and international artisans. |
