Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless

To support our neighbors experiencing homelessness by partnering with our community to promote awareness, provide warm beds, and encourage self-sufficiency.

It is hard to be homeless, but especially during the winter in an alpine environment like South Lake Tahoe. The closest shelter facilities are in Washoe and Sacramento Counties, leaving homeless individuals on the South Shore left out in the cold. In order to provide short-term assistance to our friends and neighbors who find themselves without housing during the winter, and to help break the cycle of homelessness, the South Lake Tahoe Warm Room was established. The Warm Room is a project of Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless, a local nonprofit. The Warm Room is committed to decreasing local homelessness by providing shelter and resource referrals to those in need during the season when they need it most.
