Art Paws is Artown’s only “bring your dog” day and it paints a pet-friendly picture of downtown Reno by celebrating responsible pet ownership and K9 culture, with a day for the dogs. It is a unique art-themed, K9 attended, community festival displaying how pets represent protection, companionship and loyalty to a family. At Art Paws, artisans and crafters display; fine jewelry to crystal sculptures, to oils and watercolors, jewelry to custom collars. We host three K9 contests and hold demonstrations throughout the day. Spend the afternoon listening to live music from local bands, sample a brew at our “Bone-ified” beer garden featuring local craft brews, bidding on fantastic 2 rich silent auctions and raffle, make our event not just about the animals! Art Paws also collects pet food and cash donations for Feeding Pets of the Homeless in exchange for our 200 sponsored “Doggie Bags” and provides a location for the Res-Que Annual Art Paws Dog Wash. The event proceeds benefit 4 local organizations via – Underdog Grant – Palomino Valley Pet Rescue, People’s Choice award TBD via voting at the event, Arties Art Grant – The Holland Project and the TMPF “Biggest Little Dog Park”, towards the yearly maintenance and upkeep of the dog park.
