Needs |
Volunteer Event & College Visit ChaperoneHelp drive and chaperone monthly events that are of interest and work with your availability. Volunteers should chaperone at least two events a semester.College MentorParticipate in a 1-1 match with a high school junior. Assist assigned student with college application process until high school graduation. Attend mentor training and commit to once a week meetings with your student.Leadership SpeakerShare your story, advice, and how you have used our core values of grit, connectivity, advocacy, perseverance, and confidence in your life.Career MentorParticipate in a 1-1 match with a college student whose career interests align with your career. Advise student on how to be successful in college and beyond. Attend mentor training and commit to once a month meetings with your student. |

About us | From the community, for the community: we empower our students to become first-generation college graduates and diverse leaders that change the world. LIT serves about 300 students annually from high school freshman to college seniors. We also continue to provide support to our members post college graduation by connecting them with job opportunities, paid internships, and more. We have 100% four-year college acceptance rate, 100% college persistence rate, and 100% of students committing to use their education and success to empower oppressed communities. |
