Regional Operations Support VolunteersSupport the American Red Cross as a Front Desk Volunteer and provide accurate information and customer service to clients and staff or assist with general office administrative support and help the Red Cross run more efficiently and effectively.Kitting AssistantBuild the blood drive before it happens! Kitting Assistants organize supplies and pack boxes for shipment to blood drives and donor centers. Your help is needed to assemble totes and ensure adequate supplies are available and ready to depart warehouse areas to keep our blood drives running. Please note that this position is only available at the Pomona blood services location.Volunteer NurseUse your time and talent to save lives. California regulations require that any time blood is drawn under a license it must be under the supervision of a physician. When a physician isn’t available, a volunteer RN with current license, trained on Red Cross procedures is needed to act in this capacity.Disaster Preparedness VolunteerThere are many opportunities to assist with disaster preparedness and response. Educate local residents by hosting Red Cross information booths and preparedness presentations in the community, join the Disaster Action Team and be the first line of responders for people affected by disaster in your local community, or assist with a variety of admin and logistics tasks at the office and warehouse.Blood Drive AmbassadorAs the face of Red Cross blood drives, you'll welcome and check-in donors, ensure they read pre-donation materials, offer promotional items when available, and ensure that everyone has a positive experience in a clean environment – and grab a cookie and a drink before they depart.Youth Corps VolunteerRed Cross Clubs are officially recognized clubs on school campuses and throughout the community led by middle school, high school and college students who wish to serve as volunteers of the American Red Cross. Clubs participate in a variety of activities such as service projects and leadership training by planning events at their own schools and participating in Chapter sponsored activities.Blood DriverGet behind the wheel and deliver life-saving blood to area hospitals. Safe, responsible motorists with strong customer service skills are needed to help ensure that patients can continue their fight against life-threatening illnesses. Local round-trip delivery routes operate out of Pomona and Culver City 7 days a week.Communications VolunteerAid Communications department to promote Red Cross services and programs, campaigns, events across the Los Angeles Region. Opportunities include photography, web content writer & editor, digital content editor, and translation services. |

About us | The Greater Los Angeles Chapter was founded in 1916. Today the chapter is part of the Los Angeles Region, one of the largest Red Cross regions in the country. The American Red Cross Los Angeles Region serves nearly 10 million people in 88 cities within Los Angeles County. We also serve Inyo and Mono Counties and the eastern third of Kern County. We are dedicated to helping victims of disaster and providing programs and services that help our community prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. |
