Elder Brown Bag ProgramAssist with the assembly and distribution of “brown bags” that are filled with free groceries for low-income elders.Medical Advocacy ProgramAccompany elders to medical appointments and act as their advocate by coaching, supporting, and empowering them to take charge of their health care.Long Term Care Ombudsman ProgramBecome a certified Ombudsman to assist residents living in nursing and rest homes by working with program staff to advocate for the rights and needs of residents.MA SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) ProgramProvide outreach and education to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, family members, and caregivers on how to protect, detect, and report healthcare errors, fraud and abuse.Other Volunteer OpportunitiesAssist with administrative tasks and projects such as filing, typing, mailings, and data entry.SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) ProgramBecome a certified SHINE Counselor to provide unbiased, confidential information to Medicare beneficiaries to help them understand their health insurance options.Money Management ServiceWork with older adults to develop basic money management skills such as paying bills, budgeting, and writing checks.Friend in Deed ProgramProvide companionship and assistance to isolated older adults by engaging in routine activities or participating in social programs.Special EventsAssist with community activities, fundraising efforts, planning, set up and break down of events.Nutrition ProgramMeals on Wheels drivers deliver nutritionally balanced meals to home bound elders and adults with disabilities throughout the Merrimack Valley. |

About us | We are a private non-profit that provides in-home services and community programs for older adults and adults with disabilities who reside in Northeast Massachusetts. Elder Services Care Managers and Nurses work with thousands of elders and family members each day to make sure they have the right services, living arrangements, and access to good health care and benefits. We contract with over 70 different care providers to ensure services delivered meet a variety of individual needs. |
