The mission of the Park District is to conserve natural resources and enrich the quality of life for the people of Miami County through stewardship, environmental education, outdoor experiences and passive leisure activities.

To promote temporary refuge for lost, abandoned, abused, unwanted, or injured animals to promote animal adoptions to responsible homes and compassion and responsible relations between man and animal to promote spaying and neutering to reduce the number of unwanted animals.
To advocate for, develop, and maintain trails and land for human-powered activities in and connecting to Copper Harbor.
To help control pet overpopulation in surrounding communities through humane measures (spay and neuter), to find homes for homeless pets through pet adoption and to provide a forever home to unplaceable pets.
To preserve and protect from destruction the ecosystem of the wetlands known as Cedar Bog.
To instill respect, kindness, and compassion for animals as community values.
To support the well being and care of the neglected, unwanted, and abandoned animals of Champaign County, Ohio.
