Held in conjunction with the Friends booksale. Literacy is also looking for volunteers to serve on the Advisory Board, to help in the office, and to help with new student registration.
Adult Volunteer tutors provide free tutoring for Framingham students K-12. Tutoring takes place at the Homework Center Program which is located at the Main Library. The Homework Center’s Library’s Outreach Initiative also sends teams of tutors to each of the middle and high schools.
The Framingham History Center (FHC) Third Grade Program began in 1975 as a free field trip for all Framingham Public School third graders. Today this program supports 800 students and has grown into an interactive curriculum-based experience.
A committee of volunteers who love to bake and would like to lend their services for the Center’s monthly programs and events, which normally fall on Sunday afternoons.
Act as a personal shopper for clients. Handle incoming donations. Check clients in. Pack client home-goods.
Assist customers and donors with loading/unloading their vehicles. Help stage items in the store. Needed every day that the store is open.
Pick up donations on Saturday mornings and using our 16′ box truck. Need to be able lift 50 pounds or more.
Process incoming donations. Sort donated linens and home-goods.
Assist customers with translation issues. Our major needs are Spanish and Portuguese.
