Volunteers provide clerical or office support for the YMCA at the Welcome Desk or in a Department office. Assist the staff in planning and implementing Special Events and Fundraisers at the Y.
Develop a financial management program for students and adults. Give a mini-lesson in basic money management skills (i.e. balancing a budget, building credit, interest rates, food purchasing, real estate, etc.).
Help guide the agency, assist with fundraisers, and vote on organizational matters. Must be able to commit to quarterly meetings on Tuesday evenings. Must live or work in Rochester, be a current or retired business professional, and be well-connected in the community. Previous Board experience desirable, but not required.
Receive and sort donations, hang clothing, price merchandise, stock the shop racks, and light cleaning. Must be organized. No experience needed – Full training provided.
Select items from our shelves and distribute them to families in need. Friendly personality needed as well the ability to follow established policies & procedures. Flexible schedules available. Full training provided.

Share your talents, hobbies or interests by leading a weekly program (i.e. knitting, photography, book club, dance, geology, etc.).
Assist our job coaches by helping students develop interview skills and a sense of professionalism, providing or locating job shadowing opportunities for high school students, assisting with resume writing, helping with college research and/or college application process, or providing SAT coaching.
Assist with maintenance tasks such as moping, washing windows, washing dishes, vacuuming, maintaining grounds, or assisting with one-time maintenance projects (i.e. painting, repair, etc.).
