The Guest House is managed by a volunteer board of directors and also has many committees populated by volunteers, e.g. finance, marketing, governance and special events. Serving on a committee is a great way to find out more about the organization and possibly serving on the board in the future.

We have several special volunteers with four legs instead of two! The healing power of a visit from a furry friend is demonstrated through our pet therapy program, which began in 1997. Our many registered and certified pet therapy dogs visit patients at various Renown locations and you could become a part of the team.

The Guest House is a typical home needing to be cared for on an ongoing basis. There are beds to be made, laundry to be done and cabinets to be straightened.

Pet Network hosts several events throughout the year at our shelter and at various offsite locations. Events range from adoption and community events to fundraising events. It takes a dedicated team of people to pull off a successful event, and your help is greatly appreciated. Skills needed for these events are customer service, marketing, planning,…

The Executive Director has an occasional need for administrative help such as opening mail, filing, running mail to the post office, picking up donations, and answering telephones. We also have an occasional need for someone to fill in at the main house answering the telephone and accepting donations.

Some of our residents may need assistance with their education from time to time. We are looking for tutors for a variety of subjects who would be available on an on-call basis to help our residents strengthen their skills.

Casa de Vida operates Wanda’s Baby Closet which is stocked with diapers, formula, baby clothes, strollers, car seats and more. These items are free to those in the community who are in need. Volunteer duties include receiving, sorting and stocking donations, light cleaning as needed, and assisting shoppers.

We do several bulk mailings throughout the year. We are happy to get help with sorting, labeling, stuffing, and sealing envelopes.
