Companion volunteers connect one-on-one with patients and families. Companion volunteers are friendly visitors to alleviate social isolation, provide respite care so a family can take a much-needed break, and offer emotional or spiritual support. Companion Volunteers are needed in our home care and long-term care facilities.

Welcome visitors, make coffee and support the front desk at Inpatient Care Center. Clerical and administrative projects.

Help clean the shelter by sweeping and mopping the floors, scooping litter boxes, cleaning cages, washing food and water bowls as well as toys.

We welcome office teams, Sunday School classes, youth groups, etc… Whether doing a deep clean on the house, helping with yard work, painting a resident’s room, or getting plugged into another project at the house, we can put you and the women to work.

For those who like to cook and get others involved in the process, this opportunity might be a good fit. Come and bring the ingredients to make a meal with the residents.

Help with bed preparation for planting seeds, flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Also assist in occasional weeding and harvesting tasks as needed.

Our office volunteers help in the Safe Pastures office one morning or afternoon a week. Some of the duties include answering phones, giving tours, helping with mailings, and pitching in as needed with special projects around the house.

Our teachers for life skills classes and speakers for mentor trainings provide much-needed input for those involved in the Safe Pastures program. These trainings are scheduled on various weeknights dependent upon the academic schedules of the women involved.
