The Local Veterans Assistance Program facilitates and recognizes volunteer initiatives that contribute to the lives of our nation’s ill and injured heroes. By providing resources, assistance or help with everyday needs, volunteers allow these heroes and their families to enjoy the best quality of life possible.
Exercise, walking, or yoga with children and adults
VolunteerforVeterans.org is a website where veterans can go to add personal needs, such as lawn care, cleaning needs, caregiver respite, etc. Volunteers can then register and sign-up to help veterans in their local community. Hours are credited to the volunteer through the DAV Local Veterans Assistance Program.
Help with our educational activities like arts and crafts with children and adults.
Sort, price & shelve books and other materials, also send out membership mailings.
We would love help from individuals or groups skilled in marketing, graphic design, fundraising, or web design.
Help with set-up, neaten and replenish shelves and tables, & assist shoppers as necessary.
Prepare a meal, help serve the meal and assist with the cleanup.
We always need help with office tasks such as stuffing or labeling envelopes, pantry cleaning or organization, or painting.
You can also assist guests in picking out their groceries in our Walnut Hills Pantry.
