Our Distribution Center in Brockton utilizes volunteers to receive, sort and inventory donated items, which are distributed out to our sites from the Center as they are needed.

Throughout the year, the Stone House needs volunteers to help with outreach efforts, childcare, events and administrative support.

Direct Service is on-site volunteering. Direct service opportunities include but are not limited to: cooking and/or serving a meal, picking up and/or dropping off donations, working in our food pantry, cleaning, laundry, tutoring, doing craft projects with the children at our Family Shelter, and completing outdoor clean-up projects.

Indirect service includes off-site projects such as running food or supply drives, preparing and delivering meals, or putting together hygiene or other kits for our residents. Because of its scheduling flexibility, indirect service is ideal for youth groups, business teams, or other large groups.

FamilyAid Boston occasionally seeks volunteer groups for projects at our affordable housing buildings. Opportunities may include: painting, cleaning, and yardwork.

Food Pantry Volunteers will assist in greeting consumers, helping consumers fill out forms, stocking food pantry, packing grocery bags, unpacking food deliveries, cleaning the pantry, and taking inventory.

The Stone House also welcomes volunteer groups to help with yard clean up, painting, gardening and other projects.

We offer team-building opportunities for corporations, religious groups, alumni associations, and other organizations. Our kitchen can accommodate small and large groups. Volunteers must be 13+. Groups receive a 30-minute orientation and food safety training at the start of their shift.
