Our largest event of the year is our annual Christmas Day dinner and present giveaway, held at our downtown Mission and at several local senior citizen centers. We need food servers, entertainment and general-use volunteers.
Throughout the year we conduct numerous special events designed to bring services to those we serve or attention to their plight. Some of those events include: Walk a Mile in My Shoes, Christmas in July, Street Treats, and Random Acts of Kindness.
Every Thanksgiving Day, we serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner downtown and at several senior citizen centers to as many as 1,200 needy men, women and children. Facility Crew members help maintain our nearly 6-acre ranch! Responsibilities can include but are not limited to, cleaning our building, weeding, maintaining fences, ranch repairs, etc.
Volunteers help by walking and socializing dogs. Volunteers must first attend training and must be 18 years old unless accompanied by an adult.
We have volunteer opportunities for every skill level, ranging from getting out on the ground and pulling fence, picking up trash, naturalizing old roads, planting seedlings, monitoring wilderness, and yanking invasive plants.
