Great for groups! If you are looking to get outside, and are generally handy, our YMCA locations could use assistance in property clean-up & winterizing. Property & Camp Clean Up includes raking & removing trash, leaves, & branches. Our Sheds & Garden also need winterizing to help get them through the snow!

Whether it’s helping at adoption events, transporting dogs to an appointment or any of the other supportive tasks that help our organization operate efficiently, our volunteers are a valuable member of our Wagging Tails Team.

Adults 55 and older work with students 1-on-1 in schools or child care centers to help them reach educational goals. Foster Grandparents receive benefits including recognition, a meal each workday, transportation, and more! Must work a minimum of 5 hours per week.

These volunteers accompany residents and staff into the community and help to enrich the experience for individuals. A volunteer might help someone without sight to experience an event or locale by describing the visuals to him/her. These volunteers usually commit to a couple of hours either once or twice per month.

Throughout the summer, Camp Geneva will have a number of campers who have physical or cognitive challenges and need a little extra attention to make it possible for them to participate in the camp program. GENEVA also needs the gifts of people who are skilled in hands-on work like plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and cement work. Primarily week days when our year-round staff are available to work alongside.

These volunteers spend one-on-one time with an individual resident, getting to know them and establishing a friendship. Commitment and consistency is highly valued in this role.
