We need regular help caring for our trail system.
We are constantly improving our Training Center and Operation department and are grateful to those knowledgeable in repair and maintenance, cleaning, electronic software and applications experience, marketing and fundraising, grant writing, etc.
Volunteers may be social media experts or help with event tasks such as registration, set up and break down or serve on the fundraising event committee.
Volunteers may help with mailings, clerical duties, and errands.
Volunteers may help with supporting and instructing youth through play, art and movement based activities and therapy. They may also facilitate groups, serve on panels, and conduct workshops.
At WRLS we have a Curator who lives on the grounds and tends to the Museum therefore we have a need for day keepers to come in and help. If you are interested in working at the beautiful White River Light please fill out the application and get it in to us.
The Seekers continue to meet as a local Lighthouse group. Many members volunteer at LSP on Mondays and Thursdays from May through Sept as part of the SPLKA volunteer program. Little Sable Point and Ludington North Breakwater Lights only require one week commitments. We have a similar day keeping program at the Ludington North Breakwater Light, as well. The local day keepers, “Breakers”, currently help keep the Lighthouse open 7 days a week and allow the resident keepers a day of rest so they aren’t getting burnt out from the day keeping responsibilities.
Sometimes we need help getting donated items to and from our Village Closet. The volunteer driver may bring items from the Closet directly to a family, or else meet up with a volunteer who will bring the items the rest of the way.This position requires good communication skills, flexibility, and reliable transportation.
