Interested in taking on more of a leadership role? Team Leaders coach teams of Corps members, plan and implement Jumpstart sessions, and facilitate meetings. The team leader plays a variety of roles, including coach, trainer and observer and is essential to making Jumpstart a high quality program.
Reception desk volunteers greet all who enter the building, ensure that sign-in procedures are followed, direct visitors to the appropriate locations, answer phone calls, and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Volunteers facilitate an activity or workshop about their education or career path. Activities should be interactive, fun, and last no more than 2 hours. Time commitment is one Saturday from 10:00am to 2:30pm.
Assist with various Hyde Square Task Force events throughout the year. Responsibilities may include distributing flyers in the neighborhood, set up, clean up, serving as a greeter, making phone calls, and more. Time commitment varies based on event schedule and season
Tasks may include cleaning, set preparation, preparing costumes and props, storage and general building organization.
Mentors will expose youth in grades 8-12 to a wide variety of college and career opportunities through hands-on workshops and activities. Mentors will also provide academic support through tutoring as well as developing a relationship with young people that will impact their lives positively.
Volunteers would help youth organizers conduct research for campaigns and assist the youth in practicing public speaking.
Help care for the children of Jeremiah while their mothers attend empowerment and life skills classes, work, and school. Volunteers should have childcare experience, interest, and/or education.
Oversee children while their parents attend advocacy meetings, parenting and therapy groups, or individual counseling. Our childcare providers are responsible for engaging the children in fun and supportive ways. This allows parents to take advantage of the regular support we offer for them.
Join a team of facilitators who guide women through a planned curriculum for Life Skills, focusing on topics such as parenting, health & wellness, economic independence, and career readiness.
