spcaLA Volunteers will help teach shelter dogs basic obedience, provide enrichment activities and correct common behavior problems. There are several levels of training required depending on your involvement and interests. If you are between the ages of 12 to 17, you can volunteer with an adult.

Food sorting involves coming to our warehouse to organize and box food that we have received during food drives. All ages can participate. Student volunteers are always welcome at Meals on Wheels of West LA. Younger students can help with various tasks in our office or be paired with one of our regular drivers or with a parent to help deliver food to our clients.
Assist with monthly gatherings, pick-up and deliver donated items to the event location, set-up and strike event elements (canopies, tables, food and donated items), pick-up and delivery food, assist with organizing and signing people up for services, staff tables and distribute donated items, return items to storage.
Every weekend, our volunteers bring fresh produce, nutritious food, toiletry essentials, shoes, socks, and clothing directly to people in areas of great need around Long Beach. Currently there is a morning shift on Saturdays and both morning and afternoon on Sundays; 3–4 hours per shift. Age 14+
