We always appreciate volunteers who help stock shelves, prepare food packages, and assist those who visit the pantry.

In addition to serving meals 7 days a week MBT provides meals to homebound individuals, participates in a family dinner program, provides meals to at risk-seniors, and hosts a free weekly medical clinic.

To exercise and socialize rabbits in the shelter, by taking them individually into bonding rooms or outside in the designated area for playtime on the Humane Society of Greater Dayton property.

Conduct education programs regarding responsible pet ownership, bite prevention, animal cruelty, and pet overpopulation at schools and various locations throughout the community.

Job Description/Purpose: To provide temporary animal companionship for residents of assisted living and senior centers, allowing the animals to socialize outside of the facility.

To exercise and socialize dogs, in the shelter, by taking them individually outside for walks and playtime on the Humane Society of Greater Dayton property. This alleviates stress and gives the dogs much needed exercise thus increasing their chances of being adopted. It is also a great opportunity for teaching the dogs basic socialization skills.

Our volunteer tutors provide focused support to school-aged children experiencing homelessness in schools and shelters throughout Indianapolis. Daytime and evening opportunities available with multiple locations. All backgrounds and education levels encouraged. We provide the training! One hour a week can change a child’s life.
