In the office, at the shelter, or during special events, HAWC can use all the hands it can get! HAWC offers many opportunities for workplace activism, but if you want your group to get involved in other ways, let us know!
Contact us if your youth group is looking for outdoor community service activities. Each year, we lead groups of all ages in activities that help make the forest healthier. We also have some trail maintenance activities for older teens. We also have activities appropriate for Eagle Scout projects; for example, Eagle Scout Max Montalto worked…
Running a drive for essential items is great way to involve friends, family, co-workers, or group members in supporting our mission. Members of our Development team are available to advise you on how to most effectively run a drive. We can recommend items currently needed and, in some instances, can help develop materials or promote…
Individuals or groups purchase items and prepare bagged lunches at your own facilities and deliver them to our emergency shelters in either the Brockton or Quincy. Lunches are gratefully accepted, by prior appointment, all days of the week and are particularly needed the last two weeks of the month for our shelter guests who may…
Our Distribution Center in Brockton utilizes volunteers to receive, sort and inventory donated items, which are distributed out to our sites from the Center as they are needed.
Throughout the year, the Stone House needs volunteers to help with outreach efforts, childcare, events and administrative support.
Indirect service includes off-site projects such as running food or supply drives, preparing and delivering meals, or putting together hygiene or other kits for our residents. Because of its scheduling flexibility, indirect service is ideal for youth groups, business teams, or other large groups.
Groups can also help by coordinating donation drives. The families we work with have a wide range of needs beyond housing. You can help families directly by donating clothing, household items, and gift cards.
Opportunities include sorting non perishable food that is still safe to eat so we can distribute the food to organizations serving people in need; assisting at fundraisers and reaching out to the public at local events. These activities may be appropriate for children over 8 years old and groups.
The Stone House also welcomes volunteer groups to help with yard clean up, painting, gardening and other projects.
