Large volunteer groups are perfect for helping us at garden work parties with laying mulch, turning compost, sprucing up abandoned plots, and planting at our Donation Station garden plots.

Volunteers will do the special work of preparing donated material for shelving. This might be making an index, typing material from handwritten documents, slipping data into plastic sleeves so it can be placed in a three-ring notebook, or filing the items the “cut and paste” crew generates.

We have a great card file that houses mainly obituaries but also some births, and other miscellaneous articles on Hillsdale families. These volunteers cut articles, pertinent to genealogy research, out of the current Hillsdale Daily News and prepare them for filing. As with any non-profit organization, Benefit4Kids is in need of volunteers to help us with the many children we work with along with the many fundraisers, shows and events we attend. Many people do not realize that your time is most often the most valuable donation you can give to an organization like Benefit4Kids.

Volunteer opportunities include: pick up food at the Macomb Food Bank, sort and distribute food in our pantry, provide clerical support, interview clients, and holiday projects.

The Agape Center pantry is seeking a volunteer to fill a regular Thursday evening shift. The hours are 5:30 – 7:00 PM. Qualified applicants will submit approval for a background check and must attend a Protecting God’s Children workshop within six months of volunteering.

Individuals and groups can participate in projects that keep our facilities running smoothly, our grounds looking bright and welcoming, and all areas safe, healthy and effective for our members.
