Volunteers are needed for regularly scheduled trailwork, invasive plant removal, and property clean-up. Grab your favorite loppers or borrow one of ours and join us! Individual projects are also available.

Support for fundraising and community events. For example, you may help out a bingo night by checking winners and handing our prizes, check people in at educational events, or collect raffle items for a fundraising party.

Steer and manage the horse during a lesson as needed. The horse leader is responsible for the horse not the rider and must pay attention not only to the instructor’s directions but also be aware of the entire team. Provide physical and emotional support to the rider as needed. A side walker must have significant, recent experience with horses. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Assist staff by doing administrative tasks, organizing an event, posting on social media, fundraising and networking with local organizations. Volunteers with special skills are encouraged to let us know about your talents. Office helpers must be at least 16 years old.

Assist participants doing unmounted therapeutic activities such as grooming, learning about equine body language, doing arts and crafts and engaging in educational games. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Work directly with staff to care for the horses and keep their environment safe and clean. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Assist the marketing department with brochure and poster distribution to local area businesses. They also help with community events year-round (based on availability).

Help with weeding, harvesting, watering, and processing. Each volunteer is responsible for bringing their own pair of gardening gloves and face masks. All tools for gardening will be provided by Jacob’s Garden.
