Every Monday through Thursday, our clinic performs anywhere from 60-75 spay/neuter surgeries per day. At the end of surgery days, each cage/kennel must be cleaned and disinfected to welcome the next day’s patients. We rely on our superstar volunteers to clean and disinfect our surgery cages and kennels.

Last year alone, our clinic saw over 17,000 vaccine and wellness visits and performed over 10,000 spay/neuter surgeries. Needless to say, we go through a lot of materials. We rely on volunteers to help us prepare specific items we use on a daily basis to help our clinic run smoothly.

When we receive food drives, volunteers sort through the boxes and canned goods. Food drives happen all year round, but two times a year (May and end of the year) we receive large donations.

The Foodbank goes out to various host sites (mainly in Greene County, three pantries are hosted in Montgomery County, two additional in Preble County) and gives out produce to those in need. Volunteers help fill out paperwork and help pass out food.

When produce is received from grocery stores, it comes in all conditions. Volunteers sort through the produce, separating fruits from vegetables and separating good from bad. There is some lifting of boxes in doing this task.

We need help with our vegetable garden, flower beds, and landscaping! It doesn’t matter if you have a green thumb or not, we have plenty of opportunities for you. Opportunities are weather dependent.

Volunteer Groups can help with landscaping (weeding, mulching), painting, cleaning toys, renovation projects, etc. during weekends. Outdoor projects are available for groups during weekday hours as well.

Are you interested in helping from the comfort and safety of your own home? We have a list of activities you can help with at this time. Projects include: – Putting together care packages to send to our clients who are at home using items found on our Wishlist – Writing encouraging cards to send…
