We operate after-school Learning Centers in four of the most at-risk and underserved neighborhoods in Las Vegas. Students in 1st-12th grade participate in programming such as tutoring, mentoring, literacy enrichment and intervention, leadership development, and an optional Bible Study lesson. Our 120 students are reached annually.
The Apparel Maintenance Assistant supports the Jackets for Jobs, Inc Program Coordinator to ensure that the professional apparel center is stocked with appropriate items and the donation facility is neatly organized. The major responsibilities include greeting donors, receiving donations, offering tours of facility, sorting, tagging and sizing clothing.
Counselors-in-Training (CIT) are 13 – 17 year old volunteers in our ZooCrew program. The CIT program provides experience in camp programs, public speaking, education, teamwork, and conservation. Education Volunteers help to teach our guests about the Zoo’s animals and our conservation efforts, as well as facilitate play experiences at the Zoo’s Nature Play area. Volunteers must be enthusiastic, willing to learn, and willing to foster a safe and positive environment for our visitors.
