The CASA/GAL is to perform actions or functions to protect the best interest of the child including: Investigation, Facilitation, Advocacy, and Monitoring.
As a facilitator you are given the responsibilty of fostering a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. Volunteer facilitators must demonstrate an adequate understanding of stressors which could potentially trigger child abuse and/or neglect. Volunteer facilitators must also have previous experience with parents and families.
Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity relies on it’s volunteers to build homes, but also to build our organization.
