Greet new visitors and answer basic questions. Answer the telephone and provide general assistance to the Nature Center Manager and staff.

Help lead tours for preschoolers through high school students. (Training is held during the summer and fall.)

Assist in the daily cleaning of exhibits, preparing diets, feeding animals, observing animals, record keeping, providing enrichment and are responsible for keeping all animal areas clean and disinfected. Occasionally public speaking and animal handling is required. (Must be comfortable around turtles, tortoise, snakes and amphibians)

Because of the sensitive nature of our work, most volunteer positions do involve significant training. We ask that volunteers who complete the training commit to 4-6 hours weekly of volunteer time for a minimum of 6 months.
