Maintain the website with current information including bi-monthly task force meeting minutes. Oversee social media posts on various platforms tied to the website. Create press releases, articles, and media productions to inform the community on the progress of housing Mar Vista’s homeless and increasing community safety.
Recruit new members. Educate task force members and the community at large on the homelessness crisis, issues, solutions, etc. Provide data that shows accountability and transparency in the ongoing operation of HOUSINGMV.
Assist with locating and engaging our unhoused persons and connecting them to appropriate services and housing. Provide/distribute hygiene kits, clothing, supplies, and resource brochures. Provide support to the Mar Vista residents and businesses in their encounters with the homeless. Participate in projects to clean up homeless encampments.
Attend community events and connect with organization. Develop relationships with city and county agencies (mental health, fire department, law enforcement). Work with L.A. city council offices and city attorneys to ensure mission alignment.
