Provide services to homebound seniors such as meal delivery, grocery shopping, telephone reassurance and meaningful interaction, bringing warm food and warmer greetings to the elders of our community.

Volunteers assist with dog transportation, adoption events, special events, community outreach/education. Whether you can give 3 hours a day or 3 hours a month, we’re always ready to welcome a new team member to the crew.

Gallery Volunteers serve as stewards of LA Plaza’s mission within exhibitions and create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all backgrounds. Family Days at LA Plaza include multi-generational hands-on workshops that offer an engaging pathway to cultural self-discovery and the appreciation of personal, familial, and community heritage. Volunteers in this area work closely with staff to facilitate art, garden, and culinary art workshops for children and families.

There are many opportunities for out of state volunteers, such as handing out brochures, organizing outreach events, setting up information tables, participating in protests, holding vigils and coordinating letter writing campaigns. Becoming a docent requires significant time commitment and training. Training takes place on an as-need basis, and we accept only a few applicants for each class.
