Clerical helpers assist in various ways in our Concord Office. Many help with mailings, data entry, making phone calls, covering the front desk and other administrative duties.
Work alongside staff to ensure day-to-day tasks run smoothly, allowing greater outreach and services to clients. Call patients to confirm appointments, scan documents, file, enter data, etc.
Some volunteers provide help with our special events such as fundraisers and programs for clients. Duties vary according to the needs of each event and the abilities of each volunteer. Some volunteers also give presentations about vision loss and the Agency’s work at community events or health fairs.
Practice dentistry with Families First. Depending on needs, you may see patients onsite at the Dental Center or in the community on the Mobile Dental Van. Must be currently licensed to practice, background checks, and more.
Care for and have fun with children while their parents/guardians are in parenting class, have a doctor’s appointment, or studying for English class or GED program.
Assist Families First in raising the funds needed to keep providing health, dental, and family care regardless of the ability to pay. Hold a fundraiser or item drive at your work, school, book club, etc. Lend your support in planning an event. Make connections within the community, and more.
Share your professional knowledge or specialty topic through a parenting class, parenting series, or parent recharge group. Sample topics include anger management, mental health, scrapbooking, etc.
Meet new people and enjoy tasty sweets as you lend your time in assisting with a mailing project. Tasks include stuffing envelopes, labeling, sorting, and readying them for the post office.
Help with an evening program that is geared towards families who are facing homelessness and/or other significant stresses. Assist the coordinator with food activity prep & clean-up. Volunteer groups can facilitate the activity portion of the night’s program for the children. If planned in advance, groups can create their own creative activities.
FamilyAid Boston occasionally seeks volunteer groups for projects at our affordable housing buildings. Opportunities may include: painting, cleaning, and yardwork.
