Help shelter residents by picking up and transporting their belongings from Cross Roads House or an off-site storage unit to their new home.
If your company, church group, or organization is interested in helping Cross Roads House, we’d love to host you for a group day of service. We regularly need help with landscaping, painting, cleaning, and other tasks that help maintain the shelter. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss this opportunity.
Small groups are organized throughout the year to survey and mark HCT land boundaries. Help us monitor or maintain properties by visiting nearby sites to evaluate or address stewardship needs.
From planning in advance, to support the day of, volunteers make sure that educational and fundraising events continue to grow and reach new people across the Cape.
Monitor a local herring run by counting the fish as they climb to their freshwater spawning grounds. The commitment is small (as little as one-half hour each week). You will help provide much needed data on this once historically abundant, but now declining fish. The program runs from April to June.
Volunteers are needed for regularly scheduled trailwork, invasive plant removal, and property clean-up. Grab your favorite loppers or borrow one of ours and join us! Individual projects are also available.
Help prep the facility for camp! Painting, yard work, and general cleaning is always needed in spring and then for shutdown in the fall. Great team building opportunity!
Share a special talent or skill with our youth: art, music, yoga/pilates, exercise classes, etc.
Throughout the year, Deliver the Dream hosts a variety of exciting events to raise funds that support our programs. Signature events, like our annual Denim and Diamonds Gala, require a significant number of volunteers, responsibilities can include: -Event set-up and breakdown -Silent and live auction help -Registration assistance -Greeting and directing guests -Raffle ticket sales
