Our Heading Home facilities team is dedicated to helping our clients stay comfortable in their temporary or permanent homes. Help plant flowers, build a raised garden bed, or help us rake and decorate.

Heading Home has an emergency shelter in Cambridge that offers breakfast and dinner to 21 individuals daily. Our shelter for individual clients is the only program where meals are provided on a daily basis.

Assist throughout the year with Welcome Home Baskets, the Homeless Census Team, Homeless Placement Event Support, iCycle Rider or Event Support, Client Holiday Celebration, or as a Fundraising Event Volunteer.

In the office, at the shelter, or during special events, HAWC can use all the hands it can get! HAWC offers many opportunities for workplace activism, but if you want your group to get involved in other ways, let us know!

For those who cannot dedicate a serious amount of time to HAWC or would rather gradually begin getting involved, consider the following volunteer opportunities that only require an orientation: document translation, clinical supervisor provider, and event related help.

Are you part of a group that enjoys giving back to the community? Girls on the Run would love your support and can create a volunteer opportunity to fit your group.

We welcome everyone from avid gardeners to corporate teams and school groups to help with a variety of tasks like building or maintaining a community garden, teaching gardening basics to new gardeners, helping with garden-to-table food demonstrations, leading gardening or healthy eating workshops, assisting with our youth programs, and more!
