For a span of about six weeks in February and March, we collect buckets of sap from sugar maple trees in Concord and boil it into syrup, donated at Thanksgiving to families seeking hunger relief. Space is limited and the schedule is variable.

Volunteers help keep Gather moving forward. We often need volunteers for the following: counting, sorting and stocking items for the pantry; Meals 4 Kids distributions and events; Meals 4 Seniors deliveries; assisting in on and off site food drives; outreach and fundraising event participation; holiday basket assembly and distribution.

Sponsor & Serve a meal at Woods Mullen Shelter. The shelter loves the help and your presence means a lot to shelter guests. You can also host a Recreational Activity like BINGO on the night you serve. This is an especially nice activity when people are stuck inside during the winter months.

Event Volunteers are needed at each of the four races our runners participate in over the course of the DHSM season. Various volunteer opportunities include: organizing and distributing race numbers and shirts; supervising water stops; baking post-race snacks; selling DHSM apparel; managing attendance; and distributing race medals.

Saturday Volunteers are needed each Saturday (November-April) to assist in the facilitation of the long runs. Various volunteer opportunities include: setting up water stops; standing at key points along the designated route and providing directions to runners; driving a sweep vehicle; and managing attendance.

During the volunteer shift you will be signed in, given an orientation, and assigned a task. Tasks include drying dishes, serving food, carrying trays weighing upwards of 15 pounds, sorting through clothing, serving beverages, washing dishes, taking down tables and chairs, and sweeping and mopping.
