Tahoe’s beaches are an amazing treasure, but they often suffer from overuse, especially during the summer. That’s why one of the League’s strongest volunteer programs is conducting beach cleanups throughout the summer and fall.

Volunteers can help by registering as an event volunteer or offering professional services or other forms of support.

We encourage churches, youth organizations, student organizations and businesses to help with our projects or to organize your own event to help raise awareness for SPIN. SPIN Projects include assembling House Warming Baskets, Hygiene Kits, Birthday Kits, warm clothing drive, canned food drive, Easter baskets, Mother’s Day gifts, and Adopt-A-Family Program for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

At our shelters, you can help homeless families by cleaning, gardening, and decorating to provide a healthy and welcoming environment for families escaping homelessness.

Is your company, church group, or scouting troupe looking for a service project? Thomas House can always use the support of volunteers who can complete minor building maintenance and repairs, painting, light carpentry, or other projects as needed.

We also need volunteers to pick up furniture and other heavy items from donors. If you have a pick-up truck and some strong friends Thomas House could really use your support. Food distributions are monthly so families don’t go hungry. 10,000 pounds of fresh produce and other staple grocery items that can be feed up to 300 families are distributed in Orange Count’s most needy communities thanks to volunteers and sponsors.

At our HUB of Hope food distribution center, you can end hunger for homeless and low-income families and individuals by transporting, sorting, and stocking food.

In order to furnish families with an ample food supply, we set up locations in the community where families can receive food.
