Help shelter residents by picking up and transporting their belongings from Cross Roads House or an off-site storage unit to their new home.

Prepare and serve breakfast or dinner meals for our residents. Some kitchen experience is helpful for this opportunity. Volunteers will work closely with our Kitchen Coordinator.

Ensure our residents have access to a wide range of services by sharing your expertise. Some services include yoga instruction, haircuts, tax preparation, credit repair classes, and more. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss an opportunity that’s right for your skillset.

Provide child care for some of our young residents while their parents attend meetings or skill-building workshops at the shelter. Typically, two to three volunteers work together to provide child care for a small group of children, but one-on-one care may be needed. All childcare is provided on-site, in public areas of the shelter.

Transport donations from locations throughout the community to Cross Roads House. Donations vary in size and quantity and may include prepared food, bikes, or other large items.

Small groups are organized throughout the year to survey and mark HCT land boundaries. Help us monitor or maintain properties by visiting nearby sites to evaluate or address stewardship needs.

Volunteers may come once a week, once a month, or however their schedule allows – we are happy to have you here whenever you are available. Duties will include greeting visitors, taking admission, and informing guests about our 2021 exhibits featuring artwork by C.D. Cahoon, the carvings of Elmer Crowell, and of course, Cranberry Culture…

We need someone with great organizations skills to compile information on volunteers and connect them to the appropriate Committee Chair or Board member. The Volunteer Coordinator would maintain a database of volunteers, their contact information, and volunteer interests and/or skills.
