Your role as a mentor is critical to the delivery and sustained levels of academic and social support required to ensure proper intervention with these young men.
Learn about land stewardship through hands-on participation, remove invasive species and preserve native ecosystems, and maintain walking and hiking trails
Cultivate the organic vegetable gardens and flower gardens
Make phone calls to remind patients of their scheduled appointments. Hours: Variable.
Participate in one or more of our ongoing activities: Awareness (education fairs, sporting events, etc.), Advocacy, Survivors Teaching Students, SPEAK: Survivors Promoting Early Awareness & Knowledge (Educational program in which survivors tell personal story of cancer journey.), Office support
Volunteers help watch children during parent education/information activities.
Playgroups are open to any family in the area with children birth through 4 years of age. The playgroups provide an opportunity for children and parents to play in an environment that is supportive and nurturing. Morning playgroups are offered in the communities of Houghton, and Mohawk.
Transport Veterans receiving chemotherapy, dialysis, radiation therapy, and other outpatient appointments. To fill this role, you must have a current driver’s license, automobile insurance, clean driving record and be able to pass a physical exam provided by the VA. Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
