Be a tour guide of exploration! Greet guests, operate the check-in counter and cash register, engage visitors and help them explore the exhibits we have. Animal care and handling are really helpful tasks in the center too.
For those interested in getting their hands in the dirt, volunteers assist with transplanting, harvesting, washing, & packing farm fresh produce. Volunteers go home with fresh produce as a thank you!

Short Term Volunteers participate in special events, or plan a shorter-term commitment of less than 3 months in any MEND department. Orientation is not required. *Minors 13-17 years old need to be accompanied by an adult to volunteer.
Phoenix volunteers can serve as event supporters. Supporters serve in a variety of capacities, such as helping with event set-up and breakdown, welcoming and registering event attendees, promoting events throughout the community, and helping to bring the Phoenix to new communities.
We need volunteers for newly arrived refugees who have fled violence and persecution to rebuild their lives in America. Volunteers can help with financial literacy, ESL instruction, Citizenship instruction, young Afghan women mentoring, and donation drives. 18+ years of age required. 55+ welcomed.
Volunteers drive either the box truck or van to pick up food goods from a variety of manufacturers, agencies and churches; drivers are needed 7 days a week.
Volunteers spend time with other individuals to discuss, plan and execute certain plans and events.
Volunteers help check-in neighbors and verify paperwork before distributing monthly USDA goods.
Basic computer work – data entry, writing thank you letters, using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
