ICPJ volunteers support a range of program and office activities, from bookkeeping to marketing and everything in between.
Develop a friendship with a person JARC serves. You can go out (lunch, shopping, movies, etc.). Possibilities are endless.
This is a great opportunity for individuals (or families), groups, or organizations. Visit a JARC home once a month on a Sunday afternoon (or four times a year) to play games or bake cookies; or plan activities four times a year (e.g. spring cleanup, BBQ, fall cleanup, or an arts and crafts activity).
Volunteers offer a warm smile as they provide hospitality and push a cart full of snacks, coffee and other beverages throughout our facility. They enjoy interacting with patients and caregivers as they await their appointments and receive treatment.
We offer opportunities such as in office work, where volunteers get the chance to see behind the curtain. Daily tasks include cleaning, office assistance, office maintenance, and manning the front desk.
We welcome adult volunteers to help care for our resident wildlife, including our birds of prey and other live animals in the Critter House. The therapeutic use of pets as companions has gained increasing attention in recent years for a wide variety of patients –including people with cancer. Animals can provide a source of comfort and bring out our nurturing instinct. If your dog is specially trained in this area, please contact us.
Our security/greeter volunteers monitor parking areas and greet people as they walk through our doors, offering a warm cup of coffee, a personal ‘hello’ and directions to appropriate areas. They represent the positive, caring atmosphere of the Center.
