Office work volunteers enjoy copying, compiling, organizing, data entry, document shredding, training prep, or answering the phone.

A Washtenaw Literacy mentor is a dedicated volunteer who has tutored for at least one year and has decided they would like to help support other tutors. There are three areas the mentors assist staff: traditional mentoring, workshops, and events.

Assist with sorting food in our warehouse. Food sorting opportunities are limited to 8 volunteers per shift, and available during the day Monday through Friday, 9 to 11:30 am and 1:30 to 3:30 pm. At this time, all volunteers should be ages 14 years and older.

Schedule BGP presentations with area organizations and businesses, coordinate with trained speakers, perform follow-up, track and report results. Involves phone calling, emailing, and computer work.

Periodically staff the BGP table at local events and venues to create awareness about and support of the garden project by talking it up, disseminating literature, encouraging sign-ups for newsletters and donations to help build the garden, and reporting back results.
