Throughout the week, generous members of our community bring their new and gently used donations to our Dracut Distribution Center. Volunteers help sort through the many bags and boxes we receive, looking for any stains, rips, inappropriate messaging or style, and out-of-style clothing. Volunteers may also be asked to fold or hang items once processed.

CSV’s corporate volunteer programs provide a way for companies to have their employees volunteer together throughout the school year. We welcome inquiries from new prospective corporate partners for our NetPals and Reading Buddies. Corporate partners may also send teams of volunteers to a nearby after-school Learning Center once a week.

Volunteers on the small animal team assist with cleaning cages and feeding the small animals, checking water, and spending some time socializing with the small animals as appropriate. All small animal team members must complete our small animal care training.

Residential Support volunteers play an integral role in supporting residential staff in the provision of advocacy services to the families living in Casa Myrna’s residential programs. SafeLink, our statewide domestic violence hotline, receives almost 30,000 calls a year. SafeLink volunteers will work alongside SafeLink Advocates to provide over-the-phone advocacy to hotline callers, including supportive listening, safety planning, and crisis intervention. Special Projects Volunteers work on a variety of projects designed to match volunteers’ skill sets with Casa Myrna’s programmatic needs. These projects include assisting with an outreach project or event, maintaining our shelters, help support our website or materials, providing administrative support, or fundraising.

Through the Charles River Watershed Association’s Canoeing for Clean Water program, volunteers set out on the river in canoes and pull invasive water chestnuts for an extremely rewarding experience. Volunteers have a great time exploring the Charles while helping restore the river’s natural ecosystems.

Students 14 years old or older are welcome to volunteer or intern with the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. Roles include working with visitors and helping with community events. We can also work with you to create a project that meets the requirements of a work study or community service program at your school.

Adult volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and successfully pass a background check. You can spend a morning or afternoon in the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire with visitors, help out in our offices, or assist with special events.
