If you have experience in theatre and or dance, or visual art, or are studying theatre, art, family studies, women’s studies, or education, we would love to have your help! Volunteer to help with one or more of our programs.

Assist in classes as a Computer Lab Monitor by supervising students / clients in open lab hours. Computer skills required. Or assist a regular classroom teacher during ESOL, job search class, or computer class.
Childcare volunteers assist with observing and monitoring children’s daily activities. Must be a Mandarin native speaker. EEC CORI required.
Social Worker Interns help with case management, advocacy, and resource development for the low-income clients that the department serves. Bilingual ability in Mandarin or Cantonese highly preferred.
The Advertisement Assistant Intern will help with photocopying, filing, and faxing, answering telephones, communicating and negotiating with clients, and designing, writing and proofreading the content of print advertisements. Basic knowledge of InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or WordPress highly preferred. Bilingual ability in Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus.
Tutors work with beginner or high intermediate level English language learners on writing, reading, listening, and speaking (including pronunciation). Bilingual ability in Chinese is a plus, but is not required for tutorials. Helping facilitate casual conversation groups of 3-5 ESOL students. A reporter intern will assist by going to events, interviewing people and taking photos, writing articles, reporting events, and editing and proofreading. Excellent English listening, speaking, reading and writing skill. Bilingual ability in Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus.
Front Desk Interns help by greeting visitors, answering phone calls and inquiries about the organization or clients’ appointments, scheduling appointments, routing calls to employees, data entry, filing, and organizing the client database.
As a graphic design intern, you can help in designing and producing print and electronic materials related to the organization’s program development, Sampan Newspaper and marketing needs and create invitations, flyers, and program for events, brochures, posters. Knowledge of InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or WordPress.
