Every day, we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We average about 2,300 meals per day! But we can’t do it without friends like you to help prepare and serve meals for guests.

Students are welcome to volunteer, however, we do require student volunteers to be 16 or over to join the Prison Library Project.

If you are planning on joining the PLP with a group of five or more people, please call or email at least one week in advance. Please let us know if you would like a volunteer to briefly explain the program to your group.

Docents play a vital role in the success of the Garden Tour. They are ambassadors on behalf of the Theodore Payne Foundation, and provide an interpretive element for garden visitors. Docents welcome tour attendees, and talk about the beauty,practicality and environmental benefits of gardening with California natives.

We have a few easy care tablecloths which need to be laundered. Unfortunately, we do not have facilities on site. If there is a kind soul out there willing to clean these, it’s worth DOUBLE hours (because nobody likes to do laundry).

Bookstore volunteers welcome customers and assist them with the purchase of books, plants and other merchandise. They also receive and stock merchandise, answer phones and help keep the store looking well stocked and attractive. Represent Su Casa at various community events including health fairs, fundraisers, and educational events. Share information about Su Casa’s services with community members and engage the public in a dialogue about domestic violence.
