Pipe Keepers is the League’s citizen science program to address the leading threat to Lake Tahoe’s clarity: pollution in stormwater runoff from the Tahoe Basin’s urbanized areas. Tahoe’s beaches are an amazing treasure, but they often suffer from overuse, especially during the summer. That’s why one of the League’s strongest volunteer programs is conducting beach cleanups throughout the summer and fall.

Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are invited to these fun, hands-on restoration days. By pitching in, you are improving the watershed habitats that surround Lake Tahoe. Healthy forests act as natural pollution filters to Keep Tahoe Blue.

Provides direct service to visitors in the 1920s historical portrayal of life at Lake Tahoe during the summer; support of games, activities and programs. Costumes required.

Provides direct visitor service in the Gift Shop and supports retail sales, merchandising and display efforts.

Supports exhibit and demonstrations for 1920s traditional artistry such as pottery, caligraphy, basket weaving, rug hooking and various artist mediums – sketching, painting and children’s art projects.

Hands-on horticulture work in the formal garden areas of both the Baldwin and Pope estates and the Pope Estate vegetable garden with Master Gardener direction.

Supports demonstrations, education and item sales; proof of experience and references required.

Welcome visitors and present the interpretative stories of the Pope and Baldwin Estates, Houses,Out Buildings and Gardens through tours, talks, and other interactions. Work alongside and support interpretative staff and volunteers.
