Volunteer Events generally occur once a quarter for our newsletter mailings, although we also host others for special event mailings and other projects.
Work alongside staff to ensure day-to-day tasks run smoothly, allowing greater outreach and services to clients. Call patients to confirm appointments, scan documents, file, enter data, etc.
Share your professional knowledge or specialty topic through a parenting class, parenting series, or parent recharge group. Sample topics include anger management, mental health, scrapbooking, etc.
Meet new people and enjoy tasty sweets as you lend your time in assisting with a mailing project. Tasks include stuffing envelopes, labeling, sorting, and readying them for the post office.
Help make Families First events a success by providing support such as set-up, serving, selling calendars, being an ambassador explaining programs, providing informational material, and more.
Volunteers can spend one day on medium to large scale projects such as painting, landscaping, heavy cleaning of common areas and other capital improvements at FBMS shelters and properties. In other instances, volunteers may “adopt” a site and provide periodic landscaping and general clean up.
Our Distribution Center in Brockton utilizes volunteers to receive, sort and inventory donated items, which are distributed out to our sites from the Center as they are needed.
Groups can also help by coordinating donation drives. The families we work with have a wide range of needs beyond housing. You can help families directly by donating clothing, household items, and gift cards.

English for New Bostonians holds events throughout the year and frequently need volunteers to help support them in roles such as on-site registration, set-up and breakdown, and other logistics.
