Between camp directors, counselors, youth mentors, instructors and other volunteers it takes over 100 people supporting our campers to provide a safe and rewarding experience for our campers. We have a variety of opportunities for individuals to help.
Volunteer to help with the Christmas raffle/craft fair, to serve food and drinks at the Christmas Lunch, and to prepare Christmas bags for home bound seniors.
Help stock and organize our diaper bank.
Help provide kids activities and supervise play.
The Discovery is seeking friendly and enthusiastic teen volunteers to serve as assistants for Camp Discovery, the museum’s summer camp program for kids entering kindergarten through 7th grade. Teen Assistants gain experience working with students in a fun, hands-on, science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) learning environment.
Organizations and groups are an essential part of The Discovery’s volunteer team. Group volunteer projects are a great way to make a big impact in a short amount of time at here at the museum. We offer both ongoing and one-time projects for highly engaged groups and their interests.
Volunteers will help with logistics and operations. Potential responsibilities include: course marshaling, distributing water to runners, assisting runners at the start line and on the course. These volunteer opportunities are open to all ages and perfect for families.
Volunteers will help with 5k registration, assisting pre-registered runners and event day runners. Another opportunity includes helping to distribute medals at the finish line or assist at the information and merchandise tents.
