Role modeling and informal mentoring to engage youth in an effort to build relationships provide love, attention, and interventions in affirming, positive, non-judgmental, and trauma informed ways.

Reach out to volunteers who have applied to the Douglass and arrange appropriate experiences that meet the volunteer’s skill level and ability, personality, desire, and schedule. Provide large groups with special opportunities.

Provide office support by completing general office duties (front desk coverage, filing, data entry, etc.) as well as for special projects, fundraisers, and community events. A person who is a creative thinker and is comfortable leading projects from start to finish would thrive in the DCA environment.

DCA offers internship opportunities and encourages innovating project ideas to enhance the Northside community. Individuals who are self-motivated would be a good fit at the Douglass.

Welcome people who come to the Douglass and help direct them where they want to go. Provide information about programs and services, events, and resources that Douglass and other occupants in the building offer.

Assist with cleaning Douglass’ facility (offices, common rooms, gym, and bathrooms), room set up for events, maintenance needs, and grounds keeping, which includes both indoor and outdoor work.
